Volvo Trucks ha comenzado a producir su nueva generación de camiones pesados, equivalente a los modelos FH, FH16, FM y FMX, en las plantas de fabricación de Suecia, Bélgica y Rusia, las cuales trabajan para distribuir estos modelos lo antes posible.
Los cuatro modelos se han diseñado optimizando una serie de características, como el entorno del conductor, la seguridad y la productividad de los vehículos, más eficientes que sus predecesores.
Por ejemplo, los FM y FMX ahora integran una cabina nueva con pilares del tipo ‘A’ elevados, lo cual permite que entre una mayor luminosidad y se disfrute de más espacio. Un aspecto que ha mejorado en todos los modelos es la visibilidad, con la instalación de una cámara en el ángulo del pasajero que aporta una vista más completa y comprende el lateral del camión en una pantalla interior.
Otras optimizaciones importantes son la nueva interfaz del conductor y los faros con luz larga adaptativa, que son opcionales en los FH y FH16. Mientras que, los FH y FM también se pueden acomodar para lograr un notable ahorro de combustible y CO2, como en el caso del FH con la tecnología I-Save.
Sin abandonar su compromiso con la sostenibilidad, los nuevos camiones FH, FM y FMX se han fabricado para líneas de transmisión electrificadas, cuya producción empezará en 2022. De esta manera, los clientes puede seguir conduciendo su modelo preferido a la vez que no dejan de avanzar en términos de sostenibilidad.
Cabe destacar que, DHL Freight y Volvo Trucks han confirmado un nuevo paso en pos de alcanzar un transporte por carretera sostenible. Es que las firmas de origen alemán y sueco respectivamente han alcanzado acuerdos para desarrollar una serie de soluciones basadas en camiones eléctricos.
